Among bodybuilders, there’s a common saying – ‘no pain no gain.’  The only way to gain muscle mass is when muscles react to an opposing force that is much greater that itself. At the beginning of any muscle building program, expect to experience a lot of pain due to the heavy lifting you’ll be doing.

Afterwards, your exercise routine will become a part of you, and you’ll find that your body naturally adapts and the pain will end. High intensity muscle building – where one works out continuously without a break – ensures that the muscles continue to grow.

A fundamental building block for the growth of muscles is proteins. If you don’t have a natural high-protein diet, then you might as well call it quits. Proteins contained in eggs, red meat and other natural substances help to make muscles bigger. You should avoid artificial proteins like steroids at all costs. Steroids usually inhibit serious muscle building since  your muscles aren’t made for that kind of groth in the long run. In addition, there are a lot of health risks.

Many body builders ignore rest with the misguided notion that pushing oneself to the limit will help them gain muscle mass faster. However, rest is an overriding factor in muscle gain. Not having sufficient rest may cause you to lose the muscles you’re trying to get.

By following the above tips and giving each one of them the attention they deserve, you might just find yourself gaining muscle mass and exceeding your expectations. Go for the gold and don’t ever look back. You CAN do it.
